The commandos of the country are conducting operations against Al-Shabaab in the villages between Gal-cad district and Bud-bud area of Gal-gudud region.
Officials of the government forces who spoke to the government media said that they have caused a great loss to the al-Shabaab group.
In the operation carried out in Galgaduud region, it was said that al-Shabaab’s caves where poison and other explosives were stored were destroyed.
The government said that many Al-Shabaab fighters and leaders were killed in the operation.
The latest operation took place in an area called Gariyale, where 18 Al-Shabaab members were killed.
The government media has spread the pictures of Al-Shabaab corpses on its telegram channel.
The commander of the 16th Battalion of the Commando Force of the XDS, G/Dhexe Ahmed Abdullahi Nur Beeryare, said that the government will continue this operation until the elimination of Al-Shabaab hiding in the areas under Galcad district.
Galcad is one of the areas that were liberated from al-Shabaab earlier this year, although al-Shabaab carried out one of the most devastating attacks in which the deputy commander of the Danab army, Hassan Ture, died.
