Reports from the Lower Shabelle region say that the Ugandan army, part of the African Union ATMIS mission, killed members of the same family yesterday afternoon.
The death of the people of the same family, up to six children, came after the Ugandan army stationed in Ambareso area on the outskirts of Barawe city, hit Mudul Barawe area with heavy artillery.
One of the mortars was confirmed to have hit the house of the children of the same family who died there, and other members of the family were also injured.
It is not known the official reason behind the Ugandan army shelling the Mudul Barawe area, but unconfirmed reports say that members of the Al-Shabaab group have been active in the area.
It was last Friday when Al-Shabaab militants attacked the Ugandan army base in Buulo Mareer area of the Lower Shabelle region, which caused a lot of damage to the Ugandan army.
There is no news so far from the Federal Government of Somalia regarding the killing of civilians by the Ugandan army.
