The news we are getting from the city of Garowe, the capital of the Puntland administration, says that there has been a pause in the movement of flights at Garowe airport.
The violence that took place last night in the vicinity of the airport, between Puntland forces and tribal militias, had an impact on the security of the airport.
Airlines have suspended flights to Garowe for security reasons on Tuesday.
Militiamen who were pushed by the opposition politicians, are afraid to attack the airport, although the Puntland administration has tightened the security of the airport.
Apart from that, at least three Puntland navy soldiers were killed and around ten others were injured in the clashes last night.
The confrontation took place near the airport, after a clash between security forces and those who opposed the election.
It was recently when the federal government of Somalia warned that Puntland could face a political crisis as a result of the conflict over the election issues that were not agreed upon by the government.
