The Somali government has spoken about the ban imposed by Al-Shabaab on Hormuud Company

In the past few hours, there have been reports that Al-Shabaab has imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles and employees of the Hormuud Telecom company.

Spokesman Aanood who gave a special interview to the Somali language branch of VOA said that they have learned that the Al-Shabaab group has imposed restrictions on the Hormuud Telecom Company which is one of the telecommunications companies operating in the country.

He said that the group has already destroyed the antennas of the Hormuud communication centers located in Hiraan, Galgaduud and Middle Shabelle regions and he mentioned that the group will destroy the company’s antennas as a punishment used by the Somali people.

“The areas where the antennas of the Hormuud Company were destroyed by Al-Shabaab include Qayib and Dhisiq Qurunle, Moqokori, Yasooman, Tardo, Masajid Ali Gadud, Darussalam, Aden Yabal, Juhaay, Alkowsar which are areas in Galgaduud, Hiraan and Middle Shabelle. and those services were destroyed by Hormuud Company which was building it earlier,” said Aanood spokesman.

The spokesperson also pointed out that the Somali government forces use their own communication, the main burden of these services is to meet the people and the Hormuud Company.

“They destroy the antennas so that they don’t share their information and their hiding places with the intelligence of the army and the people. They are men who are harassing the Somali people and they are fighting for development and life,” said General Abdullahi Ali Aanood.

There is still no news from the Hormuud communication company regarding the news that the Al-Shabaab group has imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles and its employees.
