The Ethiopian Defense Forces have issued a statement condemning Egypt’s threat of military intervention in Somalia and the Red Sea over the Nile water dispute.
The statement accuses Egypt of being a historical enemy that always tries to undermine the interests and development of the Ethiopian nation.
The press release, which was published on the official Social Media of the Defense Force, was written by Aschalew Lencha, a member of the Defense Force officers.
The press release said that Egypt is not happy with the construction of the Renaissance Dam, a power project that aims to provide electricity and water security in Ethiopia and the region.
The press release also said that Egypt has recently started a new campaign of intimidation and provocation, threatening to send its troops to Somalia to oppose the interests of Ethiopia.
