The president of the South West administration, Abdicasis Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, who spoke about the dispute over the completion of the Constitution, said that he welcomes the steps of the Parliament that both Houses approved the process of amending the Constitution.
He said that the Constitution has gone through different stages, and today it is all inclusive and he praises the President of the Federal Government for the efforts and consultation he put into the issues of the Constitution.
“I commend President Hassan Sheikh for the efforts he made during the work of the Constitution. We praise the Somali people for sticking together, while consulting and moving forward,” said President Abdicasis Laftagareen.
The South West President also said that there is no need for the discussion of the Constitution to continue after 30 years, and he called on the parties who are theoretically opposed to the issue of amending the Constitution to come to the table with their arguments and correct what is left.
“We have been here for 30 years and it is not over. Today we are all about the completion of the constitution. There is no tribe where there is one person, and where there are two people it is all. Somalis today are all about the issue of the constitution and the building of our government. Let’s move forward. ,” said President Abdicasis Laftagareen.
This statement was made by President Laftagareen at the inauguration ceremony of the re-elected president of Puntland Saeed Abdullahi Deni and his deputy which took place yesterday in Garowe.
A day ago, the Federal Parliament of Somalia approved the process of amending the constitution, which was strongly opposed by the opposition politicians, and the approval meeting took place in a loud noise.
