The Somali Police Command has announced that they have arrested a police officer who killed another former officer in Hawa Taako area of Wadajir district.
A statement issued by the Somali Police Force said that a suspect named Mowlid Mohamud Ahmed is in custody for the murder of a former police officer named Dahir Abdi Ahmed.
“Today, 20 Jan 2024, around 14:00 PM, the late ex-policeman Dahir Abdi Ahmed, son of Salado Mohamed Gedi, 45 years old, born in Mudug, resident of Wadajir, was killed in Wadajir District, especially in the Hawa-Taako department,” he said. said in a news release from the Somali Police.
The statement issued by the Somali Police also said that the accused will be brought to justice as soon as possible.
“The police suspect, Mawlid Mohamud Ahmed, who is accused of killing the deceased, was arrested by the security forces, but he is still in custody. The investigation is going on to bring him to justice,” said the statement issued by the police.
The police command also said that they are saddened by the incident that killed the late ex-policeman Dahir Abdi Ahmed, and it is worth noting that a demonstration against the killing of the former policeman took place this afternoon at Banadir Intersection in Mogadishu.
