Casualties have resulted from a clash this morning between militia forces from Puntland in Maraaga area of Lascaanood town in Sool region.
This confrontation was the result of a dispute between two tribal forces, who had been fighting for a while over a car carrying a gun known as Suwa, which is one of the weapons of the Somaliland army that was released during the war that drove them out of Sool.
One of the militia forces wanted to take this vehicle to the Garowe city, but other militia forces blocked it, causing the two forces to clash, resulting in casualties.
The administration of SSC Khatumo and the local intellectuals managed to mediate between the two forces, while they are now working to find a peaceful solution to the violence.
The war that Somaliland forces were forced out of the Sool region, resulted in many weapons falling into the hands of the ethnic groups that fought there.
