The election commission for the president and the vice president of the Puntland regional government is going to officially announce the list of candidates who have met the requirements of the election contest after an hour.
The deadline for candidates to register is less than an hour away, and the board has registered most of the candidates.
Each candidate who registered for president was charged thirty thousand dollars, while the vice presidential candidates were charged fifteen thousand dollars, which is the highest amount of money for registering candidates in Puntland.
The outgoing president, Said Deni, has not yet received his candidacy certificate, and he is not among the candidates submitted by the electoral commission.
The total number of registered candidates is around 20, who are prominent among the opposition politicians who have united to bring about change in the Puntland administration.
