Somali forces, especially the 9th brigade of the 60th division, have conducted planned operations between Hudur district and Garasweyne area in the Bakool region.
The Commander of the 9th Brigade of the 60th Division of the National Army Major Yonis Adan Hassan confirmed to the media that the leader of Al-Shabaab in charge of Bakool region, whose name was Hiirane, was killed in the operation.
He also said that the army destroyed the strongholds of the group from which they used to organize attacks to harass the people living in the areas between Garasweyne and Hudur district of Bakool region.
This operation is part of the operations against the Al-Shabaab group which is currently underway in most regions of the country, which is intended to eliminate the group from the whole country.
