More information is coming out of an operation carried out by the security forces today in Aabudwaq district of Galgaduud region.
The police carried out the operation against illegal weapons and the people who were carrying the weapons, as confirmed by the police commander of the Galgaduud region of the Galmudug administration, Qalbi Ahmed Ali.
The commander also said that the people carrying the weapons were arrested at the police station in Abudwaq city and brought before the law.
“The army managed to collect most of these people from their guns, and they themselves brought them to the station and arrested them. We thank the youths with guns who are in many parts when they come to the army to hand over their weapons. I hope they will work with the army,” said the Galgaduud Regional Police Commander, Qalbi Ahmed Ali.
The commander also mentioned that such operations targeting illegal weapons are continuing.
“No one will be allowed to drive illegally in the city, nor will there be, because what is being done is not right,” said Commander Qalbi Ahmed.
This operation comes at the same time as the Galmudug administration areas have been experiencing insecurity in recent days, mostly murders related to clan members in Galgaduud and Mudug regions.
