The Somali forces with the help of the local people have taken over the Al-Shabaab group in areas between the towns of Amara and Aad in the South of Mudug region.
The areas occupied by the allied forces are Jeh Jeh and Burta Yaqgoos, and it is said that there was a battle between the allied forces and Al-Shabaab.
The battle to take over these areas came after the coalition forces attacked these areas and it was said that members of Al-Shabaab were gathering.
Officials leading the allied forces said that Al-Shabaab suffered losses in the fighting in the Jeh Jeh and Yagoos areas, but did not disclose the total official loss.
“The operation is part of the struggle to eliminate the enemy in the south of Mudug, where a large area has been freed from religious violence that has become a habit of suffering for the people,” said a brief statement from the government.
In the past few days, the government forces and local residents have increased their operations against the Al-Shabaab group in order to liberate them from the areas of Mudug region.
