The 21st Division of the National Army with the help of the local people and Galmudug dervishes has taken over Barag Mohamed Daoud area which is 16 KM from Dabagalo area in Mudug region.
The operation to liberate this area was led by the commander of the 21st division, Lieutenant Colonel Abdi Salad, the former commander of the division, General Hassan Jamici.
The troops conducted investigations in the forest area of the area.
According to army officials, the al-Shabaab who were in the area fled there. Government and local forces continue to hunt them down.
Barag Ali Gaduud area is one of the areas under Harardhere district in Mudug region.
He was one of the areas that were once liberated from Al-Shabaab, but they took them back after the army left there.
