Thousands of families who were previously displaced from the city of Lasaanood in the Sool region, returned to the city almost 10 months later, after the administration of SSC-Khatumo took over the control of the security of the city of Lasaanood.

Although the town of Lasanood has been heavily damaged, people have started to return to their homes, happy that they will be relieved of the shelling of the city that has been continuously hit since February this year.

More than 300,00 families have been displaced from the city since the conflict continued. Most people have not returned to the city yet.

The city, which is still showing the effects of the conflict, is now gradually recovering, with the reopening of business centers and places that provide social services.

Also, the administration of Khatumo with the help of the commercial companies has laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the public interest centers that the Somaliland army destroyed with artillery.

The administration of SSC-Khatumo is currently carrying out operations in the city of Lasanood to collect the remnants of weapons.

People have been informed not to stay in the buildings hit by the artillery, as there are fears that there are still remnants of unexploded weapons.

The return to the town of Lascaanod has come as recently the leader of SSC-Khatumo, Abdiqadir Firdhiye has informed the people not to return to their homes, saying that the town is still in a state of conflict and there is no need to hurry.

Somaliland forces are now in Oog, which is more than 100 km away from Lascaanood town. While the SSC forces are also in an area called Sarinta which is less than 10 km away from the town of Oog.
