The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has admitted for the first time that the country’s armed forces have withdrawn from the war zone after the war in the Awsweyne area.
The President, who was participating in a questioning session on Twitter last night, said that the attack had a strong impact on the government.
President Hassan Sheikh said that the army opened the gates of war due to technical errors. He said that the government has taken steps to educate the troops, so that they can return to the open spaces of the war.
“There is no place other than Cowswayne where the government forces have been defeated. Now that force has been left behind, this reality has touched the youth,” said the president.
The President said that the troops will be rewarded, so that their morale will be improved and they will not go to the battlefield anymore.
He said that he has been in the areas where the war against Al-Shabaab is being conducted for a month and a half, that he is now going to other places that are close to the battle fronts, to encourage the troops.
“The war is going on, I will not stop. Our motto is Hight. We are 100 percent confident that we will defeat Al Shabaab. We tried it,” said the president.
Finally, the president said that there are only a few people who are working to stop the war between the government and al-Shabaab. He said these people are the same as Al-Shabaab.
