Al-Shabaab group attacked several government centers in Kakhda district of Banadir region last night at around 1:40 am.

The places attacked by the al-Shabaab group are the Police Station, the District Administration Center and two checkpoints, which are under security.

According to reports, three government soldiers have been confirmed dead and others have been injured in the Al-Shabaab attack on military bases in Kakhda.

One of the Al-Shabaab attacks that targeted the Kakhda district station was a vehicle filled with explosives.

It is not known the actual damage caused, although the army later recaptured the base, after launching a counterattack.

Al-Shabaab also targeted an emergency vehicle with an explosion. They also used several rockets to hit the station before leaving.

The attack on the Kaxda district base and other administrative centers came at a time when the Somali government has achieved great success in the ongoing war in Galgaduud region to liberate the areas controlled by the group in the central region.

The Somali government has already said that al-Shabaab is trying to do whatever it takes to thwart the ongoing liberation operations.
