Somaliland’s ruling party in Kulmiye has elected a new chairman and deputy chairman, as well as a presidential candidate and a vice presidential candidate.

The Kulmiye party, which is holding its conference on the second day in the city of Burco, has again elected President Muse Bihi Abdi as its presidential candidate, and has also elected Minister Mohamud Saad Saajin as its vice presidential candidate.

The party also elected a new chairman, Minister Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, who was the former deputy chairman of the party, as well as Abdicasis Mohamed Samale, a politician who has been with the party for a long time, was elected as deputy chairman.

“I have been resurrected after a long time to return to you the position of chairman of Kulmiye that you gave me earlier” President Bihi announced in the forum that he resigned as chairman of the party before Kaahin was appointed to the position.

The Kulmiye party seemed to have everything planned before the election, unlike in previous years, there was no compromise among the members competing for the leadership of the party.
