The Galmudug regional government has informed the people living in the Al-Shabaab controlled areas in the regions of Galgaduud and Mudug to leave immediately and go to a safe place.
The Vice President of Galmudug Ali Dahir Eid said this news in Dhusomareeb city, where preparations for the second phase of operations to liberate Mudug and Galgaduud regions are underway.
The Galmudug vice president said that it is not a secret that the cities and areas where Al Shabaab are located are being confused, and he said that every citizen should leave the areas where they are being targeted.
“All innocent civilians who are not members of Al-Shabaab, should leave those areas and go to a peaceful place. It is the only way to distinguish between people who work under the orders of al-Shabaab and independent people who are not part of that ideology,” said the Galmudug Vice President.
Ali Dahir Eid said that it is aimed at Elbur and Galhareeri, and it is a plan that the government has already announced a month ago. He said the Government of Somalia and the Galmudug administration will focus on not causing harm to the people in Shabaab areas.
