The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, met with the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) and heard a report on the national plan to cripple the economic power of Al-Shabaab extremists.
The committee showed that the Somali people who are aware of the extortion of the terrorist groups, and said that the ability of al-Shabaab to collect extortion and loot from Somali businessmen has been weakened.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that the war against Al-Shabaab terrorists has three parallel openings which are; opening up the economy, the ideological and the military, and he said that the country cannot be freed unless there is a joint victory in these openings.
On the other hand, news from Villa Somalia said that the President together with the Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre inspected the headquarters of the Security and National Intelligence Agency, observing the work of the agency for the country. . The President’s visit is believed to be based on the attack on Jale Siyad College, which is believed to have worked with al-Shabaab.
