The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is visiting the city of Dosha, held a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Binu Hamad Al Thani.
President Hassan Sheikh and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Binu Hamad focused their meeting on strengthening the cooperation between the two countries, security and the completion of the implementation of the agreements that Somalia and Qatar have already entered into.
Amir Tamim Binu Hamad, the president of Somalia said that he praised the achievements of the war against al-Shabaab, praising the government of Somalia for its efforts to clean up the so-called terrorists and to be a leader for lasting stability in the Horn of Africa region.
Somalia and Qatar have a deep friendly relationship, which is based on the acceleration of the interests of both peoples in investment, economic development, education, security, fighting terrorism, political cooperation and diplomacy in the international arena.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has visited Qatar several times since he was elected as the president of Somalia last year.
Qatar is one of the Arab countries that influence Somalia. It has helped the government in major projects such as the construction of the Mogadishu and Jowhar road.
