The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has appointed Mako Mohamud Muse as the President’s Adviser on Controlling the Flow of Illegal Arms in Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that this step is part of Somalia’s national plan to tolerate the arms embargo, and it is important to ensure that the arms do not end up in hands other than those of the government.
“President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud prayed to God for the new Adviser for Controlling the Flow of Illegal Arms, Mrs. Mako Mohamud Hussein, to ease the heavy responsibility assigned to her, and he urged her to serve the nation efficiently and honestly,” it said. The appointment made today by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud means that he has appointed 12 advisers within one year and he has chosen them to be his advisers.
However, the federal government of Somalia is putting a lot of effort into lifting the arms embargo on Somalia.
