The Minister of Security for the Southwest State, Isaaq Mohamed Korsaar, has announced the imposition of a curfew in the city of Baidoa, restricting the movement of people and vehicles after Maghrib prayers.
Speaking on the city’s security situation, the Minister stated that the curfew decision is part of measures to ensure security in Baidoa, as the city continues to face a security environment requiring heightened vigilance.
He emphasized that residents must comply with security directives and noted that non-essential movement would not be permitted after Maghrib.
Additionally, the Minister instructed security forces to focus specifically on maintaining security within the city, noting that the security situation in Baidoa requires close monitoring.
“God willing, these directives are aimed at overall security, and safety must be ensured through cooperation and joint effort,” said the Southwest State Security Minister. The decision comes at a time when Baidoa has recently experienced clashes and a volatile security situation, impacting the civilian population and movement within the city.
