The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, where he will attend a condolence ceremony for the death of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
The President and his delegation were welcomed at Hamad International Airport by the Minister of Transport of Qatar, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdullahi Bin Mohamed Al-Thani, and the Somali Ambassador to Qatar, Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali.
The visit of the Somali President comes at a time when Qatar is mourning the death of the former Emir of the country, who played a significant role in the political history and development of Qatar.
President Hassan Sheikh is expected to convey his condolences and sorrow to the government and people of Qatar on the death of the deceased, highlighting the close ties and cooperation between the two countries.
Somalia and Qatar have a bilateral relationship based on cooperation in the political, economic, development and humanitarian fields.
