The Somali Police Force, especially those in the Banadir Region, have issued a strong warning to the public in the capital, warning that armed demonstrations or violent acts will not be allowed, as the opposition was planning to demonstrate today.

The police press release stated that only peaceful rallies in accordance with the country’s law and security system are allowed, which are scheduled to take place at Eng. Yarisow Stadium.

Also, the security agencies stressed that it is completely prohibited to carry weapons, or to organize events that could cause security and social unrest.

The security forces said that they will take strict action against anyone found involved in illegal acts or armed demonstrations.

Finally, the public was urged to cooperate with the security agencies to maintain stability and peace in the capital, Mogadishu, as the situation is being closely monitored.

It is worth noting that the people of the capital woke up this morning to the presence of many soldiers from various units who were deployed in the neighborhoods of the districts of the Banadir Region and on important roads, even in some areas where walking is prohibited.
