Kenyan security forces have been conducting operations against Al-Shabaab in several areas along the border with Somalia and Kenya in the past few hours.
The operation is said to be aimed at preventing activities by members of the group in the areas between the two countries.
A source told the media that the Kenyan military, supported by the specially trained GSU, is asking people living in the border areas if they have seen people who are not from their area crossing the border in some areas.
Kenyan security officials have said that in the last months of the year, Al-Shabaab will significantly increase its attacks in parts of the northeastern regions of Kenya.
These operations by Kenyan forces in the areas along the border with Somalia and Kenya are coming, as the group has carried out several attacks that have caused significant losses inside Kenya.
