The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, yesterday awarded the National Medal of Honor to his counterpart from Djibouti, President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
President Hassan Sheikh said that this National Medal of Honor is a symbol of brotherhood, cooperation and respect between the two peoples of Somalia and Djibouti.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the President of Djibouti for the efforts, support and constant support of the Somali people and government during his tenure as the leader of the Djibouti government.
He also pointed out to President Hassan Sheikh that the Somali people are celebrating the fruits of the Arta Peace Conference that restored the Somali statehood.
The National Medal of Honor awarded to the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, came after the historic Arta Conference that restored the Somali statehood in 2000 was held yesterday in the city of Arta, Djibouti.
