Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, today to attend the Arab-Islamic emergency summit to be held in that city.

The president and his delegation were welcomed at Hamad International Airport by Sheikh Saeed bin Abdirahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of Qatar, and Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali, Somalia’s Ambassador to Qatar.

The summit is set to focus on the critical situations in the region and the Islamic world, as leaders from Arab and Islamic countries gather to discuss important issues related to security, politics, and relations between member states.

In particular, the leaders will focus on taking appropriate action in response to the Israeli aggression in Doha, targeting the Hamas office in the country.

The president’s trip is also part of Somalia’s efforts to enhance diplomatic relations and cooperation with Arab and Islamic countries.
