The Federal Government has stated that those who instigated the conflict in the Cabudwaq district of the Galguduud region will be held accountable.

The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, has called on the warring parties in the town of Cabudwaq in the Galgaduud region to immediately stop the bloody fighting.

Minister Fartaag strongly stated that those who are inciting the tension in the town of Cabudwaq in the Galgaduud region that has caused casualties and injuries will be held accountable.

In a statement issued by the Minister, he called on the clerics and intellectuals of Cabudwaq district to maintain peace and avoid anything that could lead to further bloodshed.

“I call on the clerics, traditional elders, and intellectuals of Cabudwaq district to stand up for a solution to the conflict and work together to resolve it. Anyone who is involved in inciting the conflict will be held accountable, and we will bring them to justice,” said Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag.

The Somali Minister of Internal Security also directed regional security agencies and the Galmudug administration to work closely together to pacify and end the renewed local conflict in the town of Cabudwaq.

The announcement by the Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, comes as fighting broke out yesterday in the town of Cabudwaq, killing four people, including both the warring parties and civilians. The fighting was based on a dispute over the construction of a police station in the town of Cabudwaq in the north of the Galgaduud region.
