Puntland security forces have found bodies, various weapons, and food supplies at an ISIS base where the US carried out an airstrike two nights ago.
Puntland security officials also said they found 32 international passports, believed to belong to ISIS fighters targeted in the airstrike.
In addition, drones used by ISIS to attack Puntland forces were found at the site. Officials noted that the base that was hit was one of the last remaining bases the group had in Puntland.
The site of the airstrike, located in the Miraale River near the city of Bosaso, was previously one of the bases that Puntland forces were unable to enter, as ISIS had built strong defenses there.
A Puntland official said that ISIS now has only three bases left, and that they will be eliminated in the coming days. He also noted that most of Puntland’s food storage areas were confiscated.
