Somali Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre said that the country is in a tough fight against the Al-Shabaab group, describing them as those who oppose peace and development of the people and the country, and called for their fight to be united.

Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre revealed that the Al-Shabaab group has suffered a heavy defeat and has been inflicted by the national army and local forces, while speaking at a mass Af-fur event attended by Somali students studying in Malaysia.

“The plan is not only to repel the Khawarij but to eradicate them from the country, because our country cannot make any progress while they are in the country, and it is necessary for us all to unite in their fight,” said Prime Minister Hamsa.

He noted that when Al-Shabaab enters the war, they are those who watch videos and then fight like that, and he noted that if their fight is unified, they can easily be expelled from the country.

He finally urged the Somali people and students to play their part in peace, development, and ongoing state-building, in order to realize the Somali nation’s vision of a stable and prosperous Somalia.
