Among the members accused of being part of the Al Shabaab group that has been convicted, reaching up to 81 people, the Court said that they were found to have committed acts of terrorism that took place in the Somali Regional Government, while on the other hand they said that these members led and participated in the war. occurred in Yeed and Aato in the Afdheer region on the border of Ethiopia and Somalia in 2022.

The High Court of Ethiopia also said that it has received evidence and witnesses from these members of the alleged actions, as the Court presented 57 witnesses to these members who are believed to be members of Al Shabaab, and about 396 pages of written documents. said that they are proving that they belong to the Al Shabaab group.

After that, the court sentenced 18 members of the 81 people who were tried in the court to 20 years in prison, while the remaining 63 were sentenced to prison between 12 years and 18 years, as reported by the FBC media, which is the mouthpiece of the Ethiopian government. .
