The Ethiopian government is deeply saddened by the allegations made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, which said that the Ethiopian forces were involved in the war that took place in Dolow yesterday.
A press release from the Ethiopian government said that these allegations appear to be disrupting the good relations between the two countries of Ethiopia and Somalia.
Also, Ethiopia said that third parties want to destabilize the Horn of Africa.
“The Ethiopian government insists that these groups should not be allowed to prevent the two countries from achieving lasting peace according to the Ankara Declaration,” said a press release from the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry.
The Ethiopian government said it is ready to continue cooperation with the Federal Government of Somalia to prevent such incidents from happening again.
“Ethiopia is committed to maintaining its fraternal relationship with Somalia, based on the Ankara agreement, in order to achieve the peaceful hopes of the two peoples,” said Ethiopia.
It was yesterday when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia accused the Ethiopian forces in Gedo region of attacking the Somali government forces in Dolow, saying that this action violates the agreement reached in Ankara.
