The Minister of State of the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Omar Ali Abdi, in a brief event that took place today at the army training camp of General Dhagabadan, took over vehicles and other equipment intended for the army.
The event of the transfer of vehicles and other military equipment to the government of Somalia was attended by the Deputy Director of the European Union for the African continent, the EU envoy to Somalia, officials from the UNOPS office and other officials.
The Minister of State for the Ministry of Defense of Somalia, Omar Ali Abdi, who spoke at the event, expressed his gratitude for the vehicles and military equipment that were taken over by the European Union today and for the support of the European Union with Somalia.
“Today, we took over from the General Dhagabadan camp vehicles and other equipment belonging to the army, which are intended for the army and will be of great help in the war between the army and the Khawarij,” said Minister Omar Ali Abdi.
The Deputy Director of the European Union for the African continent, Mathieu Breins, who spoke on his behalf at the event, said that he is happy to hand over to the government of Somalia today, vehicles and military equipment that are important to the Somali army.
It is not the first time that the government of Somalia has handed over vehicles and military equipment, and it is worth noting that several times in the past, various vehicles and equipment for the armed forces of Somalia have been handed over to the government of Somalia.
