The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, announced that the Ethiopian embassy in Somalia, which is currently located in the presidential palace, will be moved to another place.
The minister of foreign affairs said that this decision was made after concerns were expressed about the Ethiopian embassy being in the presidential office.
“The concern of the Somali people about the location of the embassy is correct. We will take immediate action to move it to a new location outside the presidential palace.”
The minister went on to say, “The old place where the Ethiopian embassy was located is no longer useful. We will renovate that place and move it to the embassy there.”
Fiqi has already said that the government of President Abdullahi Yusuf has established the Ethiopian embassy in the country’s presidency. He said that the Somali government is not happy about it.
