Reports from Kismayo in the KMG Jubaland region say that the President of Jubaland State Ahmed Madobe received a Kenyan delegation at his guest house in Kismayo that wants to find a solution to the dispute between Ahmed Madobe and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
A brief press release from the Jubaland Presidency said, “The President of Jubaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, received a delegation of mediators from the Government of Kenya in Kismayo. would get the conflict between Jubaland and DFS”.
The delegation was led by the former Executive Secretary of IGAD, Amb. Mahbub Macalin, former IGAD envoy in charge of Somalia Mohamed Abdi Afey and former senator of Wajir Autonomous Region Abdirahman Colow.
The meeting of these officials with President Ahmed Madobe is not known until now what they brought to the table and how they will change the tension between the Federal Government and Jubaland.
Jubaland, after the release of the press conference of the Madasha Conference, threatened to hold its own elections before the end of the year.
The meetings of the Kenyan delegation and the President of Jubaland will continue until today in Kismayo, and it is expected that the points agreed upon by the parties will be drawn up.
