The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Adan Macalin, participated in the 2024 Digital Conference of African Governments in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.
This conference inaugurated by the President of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema is one of the African governments to discuss how to develop technology in African countries.
The Minister of Communication and Technology of Somalia, Mohamed Somali, said at the meeting that the government of Somalia has made progress in the field of digital, communication and ICT, which is important for adapting to the changes in the modern world.
“Somalia has made important laws for the development of modern technology, such as data protection, building a national data center, cyber law, cyber crime law, e-government strategy, e-transaction law, ICT development policy. Policy and Strategy” was said in a statement issued by the Ministry of Communications and Technology of Somalia.
The Minister also presented at the meeting the launch of the East African Digital Connection Project and pointed out that it will change a lot in the economic growth of Somalia and the connection of East African countries, noting that Somalia is ready for international investment. on the digital side.
