The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud chaired the meeting of the National Consultative Council where the leaders of the Council are focusing on the security situation of the country, especially how to speed up the fight against the Al-Shabaab group, the completion of the democratization process, and the implementation of the previous agreements of the National Consultative Council. .
“This meeting is focused on the country’s security situation, especially how to accelerate the fight against the Khawarij Al-Shabaab groups, the completion of the democratization process, and the implementation of the previous agreements of the National Consultative Council. There will also be discussions on the construction of government and general cooperation. of the states and the federal government to ensure the peace and development of the country” said in a statement from Villa Somalia.
The meeting was attended by the President of Jubbaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, the President of South West, Abdizais Hassan Mohamed, the President of Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Kariye, the President of Hirshabelle Ali Abdullahi Hussein and the governor of Banadir region and the mayor of Mugadis Yusuf Hussein Jimale.
The recently opened meeting for the leaders of the National Consultative Council is absent from the President of the Puntland administration, Said Abdullahi Deni, who is still at odds with the leaders of the federal government.
