Members of the lower house of parliament, whose number is estimated at forty, have been confirmed to have prepared a motion demanding the removal of immunity from 25 members of parliament.

The MPs who prepared the motion were accused of taking action against the sovereignty of Somalis, after they supported demonstrations in support of the presence of Ethiopian troops, which took place in 2 districts of Bakool region.

This motion is said to have not yet been carried out by the Speaker of the Somali Parliament, Adan Madobe, although the MPs who prepared it are putting pressure on the Speaker to accept the motion they are running.

Reports we are getting this morning say that the speaker of the parliament has canceled today’s session of the parliament, due to the noise caused by the parliamentarians who are moving the motion.

The parliamentarians who supported the motion were accused of pushing the presidency behind, in order to succeed in taking action against the parliamentarians who supported the presence of the Ethiopian army.

The President of Somalia has fired MP Rasheed Mohamed Nur Jiilley as the President’s Special Envoy for Health and Nutrition.

The emissary was one of the parliamentarians who supported the Ethiopian army, he is also one of the 25 parliamentarians who want to be stripped of their immunity.
