The security agencies of Puntland have arrested around 10 people who are said to be Al-Shabaab group, who were arrested in the city of Garowe, as confirmed by HOL security officer.
These men were arrested after the intelligence agencies of Puntland received information that the Al-Shabaab network had traveled to Garowe to carry out explosions in Garowe and other areas of Puntland.
The official we quoted who refused to be named confirmed that seven people were arrested after being arrested at the western checkpoint in Garowe. Reports say that one of the men who tried to escape was wounded by the soldiers.
Puntland security agencies have not yet spoken about the arrest of these men. A few days ago, the security officials and administration of Nugal region spoke to the media, warning not to rent houses to strangers.
Four months ago, Puntland’s security forces also arrested several men and women, who were said to be carrying military equipment to Al-Shabaab in the Galgala mountains.
