A committee tasked with pacifying the conflict in Luuq district has issued peace decisions to end the conflict between three communities in Luuq district in Gedo region.

The first vice president of Jubbaland, Mohamud Sayid Adan, who is in charge of the peace committee, said that each of the warring clans has been fined to pay compensation to the people who were unjustly killed.

The Jubbaland vice president also said that 8 people who were involved in fueling the conflicts will be referred to the justice institutions.

The peace committee appointed a special committee to assess the damage caused by the burned villages and businesses, so that the people who lost their property can be returned to their property.

The committee also said that the people who burned it will be charged to pay the property.

Mohamud Sayid Adan confirmed that the tribal militias that participated in the conflict are being disbanded, and he also said that no soldier who is not a member of the Jubbaland army and the Federal Government of Somalia can be seen in the area.

The issuing of these decisions came after a period of four weeks in Luuq district where peace meetings were held to end the conflict there, while the peace committee joined hands with the warring clans.
