The former presidents of the country, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Sharif Sheikh Ahmed accused President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of turning a deaf ear to their calls for the process of reviewing the country’s constitution.
The two former presidents said that if the parliament approves the amendments made to the constitution, it means that they have taken a path that threatens the legitimacy and existence of the government of Somalia, calling on them to consider.
Farmajo and Sharif said that the steps taken by the president clearly show that he wants to take over the powers of both houses of parliament, so that the government is not held accountable.
