More news is coming out of planned operations by the government forces and those of international friends in the past few hours in several areas in the South of Mudug region.
The cooperating forces have targeted areas where members of the Al-Shabaab group were located in the areas of Qaida and Shabeellow.
Major Abdirahman Noor, one of the officers who led the operation, told the national media that the operation killed a leader of Al-Shabaab and other militias.
The lieutenant did not reveal the name of the leader of the operation who was killed and the number of other militants, he said that in the next few hours they will submit the official details.
The operations that took place in the past few hours in these areas in the south of Mudug coincided with last week the government forces vacated the positions they had in the areas of Badaweyn, Aad, Amara and Shabeellow which were all areas that were difficult to remove from Al- Shabaab.
