A plane carrying supplies of ATMIS troops in Jowhar, Hirshabeele administrative center has crashed.

A cargo plane carrying food and a group of teachers to the ATMIS army crashed today Saturday at the Jowhar airport, after it went off the runway.

The manager of the airport, Jowhar Mukhtar Abukar, who spoke to the government media, said that the staff and trainers accompanying the plane were evacuated safely.

The manager said that the plane that brings the ATMIS troops to the logistics service, took off from Uganda, where it took a group of teachers and food to the ATMIS troops in Hirshabeelle area.

He said the plane was badly damaged. He said it happened in a wild area on the side of the field. He pointed out that the accident did not affect the smooth operation of the Jowhar airport.

It is not known why the plane crashed, however, the manager of Jowhar Airport said that it is thought that the error came from the pilot. Although he said that an investigation is being carried out.

The ATMIS mission has not yet received this incident.
