The Marodijex regional court sentenced 4 Ethiopian men to 6 to 8 years in prison and fined money for drug dealing.
The court today announced the sentence of the man who was recently arrested by the police while making alcohol in Somaliland, and received different sentences.
“The court sentenced two of them to 8 years in prison, and a fine of two million Somaliland shillings, which they will pay,” the judge read the verdict to the media.
The court also sentenced two of the convicts to six years in prison and to pay a fine of one million Somaliland shillings each.
These men were also found guilty of changing their names, of wearing Islamic clothes and claiming to be Muslims, and of entering Somaliland in an illegal immigration system.
There are many Ethiopian communities in Hargeisa, some of whom have other religions but pretend to be Muslims in order to beg or perform other activities.
