Ethiopia has celebrated the 46th anniversary of the transfer of what it called the victory of Karamara, which they said, was the defeat of Somali forces in Ethiopia in the war in 1977.
Ethiopia described it as a historic victory when President Mohamed Siad Barre, who ruled Somalia for more than twenty years, ordered his troops to invade Ethiopia with the aim of restoring the Somali land that Ethiopia has been holding.
The Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported that Karama’s victory represented “a precious sacrifice to defend Ethiopia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
Ambassador Jorge Lefebre Nicolá, Cuba’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, who came to Ethiopia’s aid when the Somali forces entered more than 700 km of Ethiopian colonial territory, attended the commemoration event at the Ethio Square. -Cuba.
More than 15,000 Cuban soldiers participated in the defeat of the Somali forces in the war with Ethiopia in 1977.
