The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, spoke strongly about Ethiopia’s violation of Somalia’s independence, and reiterated that Ethiopia’s violation is a threat to the stability of the region.
The president, who was giving a speech at the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, Turkey, said that Ethiopia is trying to divert the attention of the world from its internal problems by interfering with the territorial independence of Somalia.
The president continued to dismiss baseless statements that Ethiopia wants to legitimize the violation of Somalia’s sea.
The President highlighted Somalia’s perspective on the Red Sea, stressing that peace and international trade depend on the cooperation and stability of the neighboring countries of the Red Sea.
He also spoke about the ongoing efforts of the government to liberate the areas where the Al-Shabaab group is located, strengthening the government, and sustainable development.
