The Ethiopian Airlines has denied reports on social media that were spread on the internet, which said that the company has stopped using the airspace of Somalia.
Ethiopian Airlines has confirmed that it has not suspended flights to Somalia, while the head of Ethiopian Airlines has not said that it is not safe to fly in Somalia.
“We assure you that the letter being circulated on social media, which is said to have come from Ethiopian Airlines, and was sent to IATA, is fake. Ethiopian Airlines never wrote such a letter to IATA.” said in a statement from the company.
The company asked the Amharic BBC to correct a report they released in which they said that the company has stopped using Somalia’s airspace because they said that the security of Somalia’s airspace cannot be trusted.
It was reported that Ethiopian Airlines has turned away from Somalia. She said she flew to Djibouti.
