Two miners have died after collapsing in a mining pit in Gabilay region of Somaliland.One of the men who were digging for minerals from the collapsed pit, who told MMTV, reported what happened and said that suddenly the pit collapsed.
“Those two were inside while the rest of us were outside. We just saw the place collapse and collapse. In the blink of an eye, our debts and the tremors disappeared,” he said.
Another man who was one of the miners said that one of the two dead men was inside and the other one was standing up and when he went down the hill he tried to save the other and they both died.
MP Mursal Mohamed Jama, a member of the Gabilay District Council, told MMTV that the bodies were removed and taken to Gabilay city.
It is said that three incidents like this, in which people lost their lives, took place in these areas in the past years.
