US President Donald Trump has said there will be no talks to end the Middle East war until Iran surrenders unconditionally. Iran has said it is ready to defend itself, as the war between the US, Israel and Iran enters its eighth day.

Trump said in a post on social media that any deal would depend on Tehran first agreeing to “unconditional surrender.” He added that once that happens, the US and its allies will work to restore Iran’s economic clout.

“Once that happens, with good and acceptable leadership, we and our allies will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of collapse,” Trump said, concluding his speech with the new slogan “Make America Great Again (MIGA).”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his country would not ask for a ceasefire and was not ready for talks with the United States.
Araghchi, in an interview with NBC, also said that if US ground forces invaded Iranian soil, they would face a “great disaster.”

“We are not afraid of a ground invasion. We are waiting for them to come, and we are able to prevent them,” he said.

The war began a week ago after a series of large-scale strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which destroyed some of the country’s military facilities and killed Iran’s supreme leader.

Tensions are still rising, with no sign of abating anytime soon.
