The Minister of Religion and Islamic Endowments, Sheikh Mukhtar Robow, has announced that tomorrow will be the first day of Ramadan, after the sighting of the moon was confirmed in several regions of the country.

The minister, who recently appeared on state media, said that the sighting of the moon was confirmed in cities including Beledweyne, where a doctor contacted by the ministry confirmed that he had seen the moon.

Sheikh Mukhtar noted that the government trusts the citizens who reported the sighting of the moon, and therefore announced that tomorrow will be the first day of Ramadan.

The Somali Ulema Council also announced that the Ramadan moon had been sighted, noting that the moon had been sighted in many Islamic countries, and that it is important for Somalis to take advantage of the opportunity to worship during the holy month.

Following the announcement of the sighting of the moon, the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, congratulated the Somali people on the beginning of Ramadan.

Prime Minister Hamse called on the Somali people to be united and united, urging them to stand by those affected by the drought.

However, most of the country’s regional governments have declared Ramadan fasting.
